(JAMA Network Open)—Rivaroxaban and dabigatran were as effective as warfarin for stroke prevention in older afib pts w/ multiple chronic conditions, but bleeding rates were significantly higher w/ rivaroxaban, in this retrospective comparative effectiveness analysis involving nearly 150,000 Medicare pts. Mortality was lower w/dabigatran and rivaroxaban vs warfarin at all levels of comorbidity.
